Silvia Molinari

I was born in Piacenza in 1976, graduated at Toschi Art Institute of Parma in decorative techniques.
My works are part of the permanent collection of the Salamon & C Gallery in Milan and JGO Gallery in Park City (Utah).
I have exhibited in personal and collective exhibitions at the Venice Biennale, Affordable Art Fair in New York and Milan.
Shrubs, leaves, plant fragments, small living beings such as insects and birds are the protagonists of my artworks, the subjects that I enjoy more than others to bring out from the whiteness of the paper

Which series do you choose and what do you love about Borciani e Bonazzi brushes?

700 Series. I am very happy to have had a part in defining the project and grateful to have been chosen to take care of it as an expert in the field.
We created the 700 Series, which was born from the desire for innovation and research of this company with an amazing story, animated by highly experienced craftsmen.
The 700 series is something totally new, designed by those who know how to do their job.

And how are these brushes? So beautiful.

Synthetic hollow fibre, closed in with ferrule and big quill, balanced handle, brass capsule. Versatile and performing.
That is, ease in the drafting of the color, which is retained in abundance and discharged without overhangs, drops or tears in the track. In hand, you feel them well.
The stroke is clean, uniform, the mark clear and precise; responds quickly to changes in direction and intensity, as expected from an excellent synthetic-haired brush.
The exceptional ability to collect water instead recalls the characteristics of the natural bristle, as well as the softness with which it tackles large backgrounds

In essence, this new line combines the excellence of natural fibre with those of synthetic.
The capsule packaging allows safe transposition and protection over time. I don't travel often with brushes, usually I only bring pencils, but from today I change.
It often happens that a technical change leads to artistic revolutions: in my case there has been an evolution, I see it clearly in the latest works.
