Silvia Molinari: series 700

Silvia Molinari: Who is the Artist?

Painter, artist, botanical watercolorist, lover of open spaces, nature, and the life forms that inhabit it.

Born in Piacenza in 1976, she graduated from the Toschi Art Institute in Parma with a diploma in decorative techniques. Her works are part of the permanent collections of the Salamon&C Gallery in Milan and the JGO Gallery in Park City, Utah.

She has exhibited in solo and group shows, including at the Venice Biennale, the Affordable Art Fair in New York, and Milan.

Silvia Molinari's strong and elegant artistic identity has earned her numerous prestigious collaborations, such as with the magazine Gardenia, for which she illustrated the famous agenda in 2017 and 2020, with the support of the Ricola brand.

She also collaborated with Lipu, which commissioned her to create about 250 bird illustrations for a book dedicated to the identification and conservation of birds. This important book is the first of its kind to be produced in Italy.

Her love for nature and environmental values earned artist Silvia Molinari a finalist spot at the 10th edition of Selvatica - Arte e Natura in Festival in Biella.

"Shrubs, leaves, plant fragments, fruits and berries, small living beings like insects and birds are the protagonists of my works, the subjects I most enjoy bringing out from the whiteness of the paper," says the artist.

The watercolorist also leads courses and seminars, collaborates with illustration magazines, and works with both profit and nonprofit brands.

She has a long-standing collaboration with The Arts Journey, a cultural association with which she conducts seminars, workshops, and painting tours inspired by past literature, nature, and the cultural beauties of our country.

The Brushes Created by Silvia Molinari for Borciani e Bonazzi

Here is the new line of brushes created in collaboration with Silvia Molinari.

The microporous and thin synthetic filament ensures a high hygroscopic level, meaning it has an excellent capacity to absorb water without releasing it, except when placed on a surface.

How the 700 Series Was Born in Collaboration with Silvia Molinari - Borciani e Bonazzi

"I'm very happy to have played a part in defining the project and grateful to have been chosen to take care of it as an expert in the field.

We created the 700 Series, born from the desire for innovation and research from this amazing company, driven by highly experienced artisans.

The 700 Series is something completely new, designed by those who know their craft."

And What Are These Brushes Like?

"Beautiful. Hollow synthetic filament, ferrule and mop brush, balanced handle, brass capsule. Versatile and high-performing.

That is, ease of color application, which is retained abundantly and released smoothly without jumps, drops, or streaks. In hand, they feel solid.

The stroke is clean, uniform, the mark sharp and precise; it responds quickly to changes in direction and intensity, as you would expect from a high-quality synthetic brush.

The exceptional water-holding capacity, however, reminds you of the characteristics of natural bristle, as does the softness with which it handles large areas."

In essence, this new line combines the excellence of natural filament with the advantages of synthetic.

The capsule packaging allows for safe transport and long-term protection. I don't usually travel with brushes, typically just pencils, but from now on, that changes.

Often a technical change leads to artistic revolutions: in my case, there has been an evolution, which I can clearly see in my latest works.
